I am currently working in downtown Chicago, IL as a mechanical engineer at GATX Corporation. GATX is one of the largest full-service railcar leasing companies in the US and is over 100 years old. I write repair and modification instructions for tank cars, mostly working with valves/fittings on the top and bottom of the car.
My passion is restoring worn-out mechanical systems. Often, this includes redesigning certain parts and reengineering what I can to increase longevity and efficiency. I find freedom in turning trash back into treasure and fixing what you have instead of buying new.
